Seen It Coming

About Seen It Coming

Most people hear about a big shift only once it is everywhere: the first time they read about AI was ChatGPT, the first time they heard of a market crash was the morning after. Seen It Coming exists to close that gap, in plain English.

Two series

Foreshock looks for early signals: research papers, patents, government grants, new startups and funding rounds, and the niche communities where builders talk before the press does.

Aftershock explains big market moves after they happen: what moved, by how much, why, and what to watch next.

How we research

Every article starts from a research brief where each claim is tied to a source that was opened and read. We prefer primary sources such as filings, official statistics, central banks, company announcements and research papers. Numbers keep their dates. Forecasts are labelled as forecasts, and where credible sources disagree, we say so.

The research and first drafts are produced with the help of AI tools. A person reviews every article before it is published.

Magnitude and signal strength

Each article carries a seismograph trace and a score from 1 to 5. On Aftershock pieces it is the magnitude of the market move compared with what is normal: 1 is everyday noise, 3 is a headline move with knock-on effects, 5 is historic. On Foreshock pieces it is the strength of the early signal: how much money, research and official action stands behind it.

Languages

Articles are written in English first. The other language versions are translated with the help of AI tools from the English original, which is the reference if anything differs.
